Privacy Policy

Effective July 26, 2026 · Last updated August 13, 2026

Dinker (“Dinker”, “we”, “us”) is a mobile app for tracking pickleball matches and player ratings within private groups. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and what control you have over it.

If you have questions, contact us at .

1. Information We Collect

Account information

If you sign in with Apple or Google

You may sign in using Apple or Google instead of a password. In that case we receive your name and email address from that provider to create your account.

If you use Sign in with Apple and choose “Hide My Email”, Apple gives us a private relay address instead of your real email. That works fine — we never need your real address.

We do not receive your Apple or Google password, and we do not access your contacts, calendar, photos, or any other data from those accounts.

Optional information

Device information

Crash and diagnostic data

When the app crashes or hits an error, we receive an automatic report through Sentry, our crash-reporting provider. These reports contain the technical detail needed to find the bug: the error message and stack trace, your device model, operating system version, and app version, plus an automatically generated installation identifier so we can tell whether one person hit an error ten times or ten people hit it once.

That installation identifier is not linked to your Dinker account, name, or email address. Crash reports do not contain your match data, your messages, or your password. We use them only to diagnose and fix problems.

Feedback you send us

If you use the Send Feedback button in the app, we store what you wrote, your username, and the same device model, operating system version, and app version described above. That context is attached automatically so you do not have to describe your phone to us. Only send information you are comfortable sharing — write only what you want us to have.

What we do NOT collect

Dinker does not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, health data, or advertising identifiers. We do not use advertising trackers, we do not run behavioral or marketing analytics that profile how you use the app, and we do not sell your personal data.

The one automated collection we do perform is the crash and diagnostic reporting described above, which exists to keep the app working and nothing else.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.

3. What Other People Can See

Dinker is a social app, so some information is visible to others by design:

Your email address is never shown to other users.

Groups are private — only people with the invite code, or who are added by a group admin, can join and see that group’s data.

Pending players

If someone logs a match against a person who does not yet have the app, Dinker creates a placeholder profile holding only that person’s display name and match results. If that person later signs up and claims the profile, the history transfers to their real account. If they never claim it, the placeholder holds no contact information and cannot be used to identify or message them.

4. Service Providers

We use a small number of third-party services to run the app. They process data only on our behalf:

ProviderPurposeWhat they handle
SupabaseDatabase, authentication, hostingAccount details, gameplay data, feedback you send
ExpoPush notification deliveryPush tokens, notification content
SentryCrash and error reportingError reports, device model, OS and app version, installation identifier
AppleSign in with Apple (optional), app distributionAuthentication
GoogleGoogle Sign-In (optional)Authentication

Each has its own privacy policy governing their handling of data.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account exists.

You can delete your account at any time from within the app — go to the Profile screen and choose Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

If you prefer, you can instead email from the address on your account and we will delete it for you within 30 days.

When your account is deleted we remove your profile, email address, push token, ratings, and friendships. Matches you played may remain visible to other participants as part of their match history, but they will no longer be linked to your name or account.

Two things outlive account deletion, so we want to be plain about them:

You may also edit your display name, username, and avatar at any time from the Profile screen in the app.

6. Security

No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

7. Children’s Privacy

Dinker is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email . We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. International Users

Dinker is operated from the United States, and your information is stored on servers located in the United States. If you use the app from outside the US, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed there.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email. Continuing to use Dinker after a change means you accept the updated policy.
